WomenOfTheFuture-thumbWomen of the Future have released new research into the thoughts of female leaders, kicking of their WOF Summit at the London Hilton, Park Lane.

WOF, in partnership with Hall & Partners, conducted the research entitled, ’10 Years, 10 Stories’ in order to ‘capture an honest account of stories, characteristics and hopes for female leaders of the future, from some truly inspirational women.’

The research revealed that:

  • 82% believe they wouldn’t have achieved the same success without the right network of colleagues and supporters
  • 93% identify with being collaborative
  • 37% regularly doubt their decisions
  • 79% of those surveyed said the hardships they had encountered had been critical to their success
  • 77% think female leaders are more collaborative than male
  • 83% believe that being a woman gives them different strengths and advantages

WOF also highlighted ten case studies on inspirational female leaders and recipients of the Women of the Future Awards who are leading the way in shaping the future for women. These include Liv Garfield, Severn Trent CEO; Eliza Rebeiro, founder of Lives Not Knives; and Serena Guen, Director and Editor-in-Chief of SUITCASE Magazine.

Speaking of the research, WOF founder, Pinky Lilani said, “10 Years, 10 Stories’ reveals the extraordinary spirit that defines these women – a spirit of kindness, authenticity and collaboration. It celebrates the spirit that’s at the heart of our WOF Programme.”

The Summit brings together speakers and international delegates including: Miriam González Durántez, partner, Dechert; Dr Mukund Rajan, group executive council, Tata Sons; Zavier Rolet, CEO, London Stock Exchange Group; Karen Pierce CMG, British Ambassador to Afghanistan; and a keynote address from the Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women and Equalities, Nicky Morgan.
