Vacancy of the week: Solutions Architect | City of London

Each candidate should be able to demonstrate:
* Experience working in the Financial Services sector
* Reference at least two successful projects where they personally make a significant contribution to the proposed solution, the design and the eventual implementation.
* Reference at least one major programme where they were the lead architect responsible for the overall technical solution
* Experience of business process mapping
* Systems Design for significant enhancements to existing systems

Knowledge of a number of:
* Six sigma
* RUP and the Rational toolset
* Unified Modelling Language (UML)
* Cost/benefit analysis

FS experience:
* 10+ years working in Financial Services organisations as architect, specifically on large, complex change programmes.
* Proven track record in the delivery of payments programmes
* Good understanding of ISO20022, specifically rule books and country specific variations
* To have a deep understanding of the working of retail and corporate banks, from both an operational and technology perspective.
* To have experience of the culture within a Financial Services organisation in particular, the interaction between the business and IT.
* Have in depth knowledge of clearing and settlement mechanisms in the UK and Europe. Knowledge of domestic clearing mechanisms in Europe would also be of interest.
* Extensive knowledge of channel strategies in both retail and corporate banking

Technical Skills:
* Deep understanding of payments in the UK and Europe
* Deep understanding of UK clearing and settlement systems, specifically CHAPS, bacs, FPS, Link and C&CCC
* Good understanding of current regulatory pressures on the payments industry but in the UK and in Europe
* Hands on experience of technical and or solution architecture within a UK or European retail or corporate bank
Business Skills:
* There is a requirement to engage with Senior Management within Banks and Insurers. The candidate should have experience of building and maintaining relationships at Director level and above in large FS organisations.
* The candidate should have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills. They should have experience of understanding how decisions are made within a large FS organisation, what types of roles are involved and how to adapt to a moving process.

Qualifications:
* 10+ years experience working in change across large FS organisations as a consultant
* University graduate from recognised institution.
