Main Purpose of the Role:
As a senior member of the IT delivery team, this role is accountable for enterprise wide QA and Testing covering both UK and International territories. Critical to this role is solid experience of establishing and enforcing standards, managing large globally dispersed teams (direct and matrixed) and working with Partner companies that provide both technology and Testing capabilities.
The primary responsibilities are to define and enforce standards and best practices, measure quality, manage Testing Partners, coordinate improvements with Technology Partners and delivery workstreams, enforce a culture of continuous quality improvement through automation (amongst testing and development teams) and ensure corporate strategy is supported with quality IT deliveries.
This role is fundamental to supporting the various delivery leads and project managers for the delivery of solutions on time and to quality. The individual will champion quality across the company and should take pride in delivering solutions that exceed client expectations as well as promoting and developing new ideas to enhance our services and products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Accountable for enterprise wide Testing and QA practices, supporting a range of technology products, platforms and multiple concurrent projects and including all testing approaches (ie non/functional, integration, release/sanity and regression testing).
* Assure the combined performance capability of enterprise wide systems to cater for key Sporting events
* Define and drive standards and best practices in QA and Testing, in particular champion the adoption of continuous quality improvement through automation
* Capture and reporting of quality-related metrics and KPIs to deliver a measurable service
* Manage Testing Partners to meet and exceed agreed service levels ensuring best value is achieved for Ladbrokes at all times
* Effective resource management and planning
* Establish and maintain a community of QA/Testing practitioners comprising both Partner and Ladbrokes staff
* Coordinate quality improvements and changes amongst Technology partners and delivery workstreams
* Participate in IT delivery planning, roadmaps and dependency management
* CAPEX and OPEX budget planning, tracking and management
* Build , motivate and manage high performing teams involving permanent staff, vendors and matrix management
* Manage third party delivery, including commercial oversight (ensuring work is completed to agreed contract terms
* Provide contract management and negotiation skills to ensure effective use is made of procured skills and products within the best possible financial models
* Promote new ideas (backed with data and Business Cases) and enhance processes, team structures and tools including implementation of agreed changes
* Build strong communication channels at all levels of the organisation, manage expectations and provide clear status communicationsKey Accountabilities
* Ensuring that multiple concurrent IT solutions are delivered to standards and agreed quality
* Working with Delivery, Project and Partner Teams to ensure quality is instilled at the outset
* Ensuring quality targets across the enterprise are maintained or exceeded
* Managing Testing Partners to meet and exceed service levels ensuring the best value is provided to Ladbrokes at all timesSkills Required:
Required:
* The successful candidate must have held a number of senior QA IT positions within a medium to large organization
* A background in fast moving, information intensive Digital or Retail sectors
* Proven experience in managing large globally dispersed Partner and internal teams
* Experienced in managing and defining enterprise wide performance test strategies
* A track record working on large-scale, global high availability, mission-critical systems capable of handing extreme peak activity
* Experience of contract management and third party vendor management (offshore and nearshore).
* Experience of evaluating and implementing standards including testing tools
* Proven experience in gaining efficiencies through automation
* Line management experience, including organisation restructuring
Preferred:
* Professional project management and quality qualifications such as: PRINCE2/Scrum Master etc
* Experienced in the Betting and Gaming sector
* Experienced in tools such as:
– Neoload
– Selenium
– Cucumber
– Atlassian JIRA
