BNY Mellon are currently seeking for a permanent Senior Account Management Representative to be based in their Manchester offices. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to enhance their career in Financial Services.
The role requires a rounded knowledge of global financial markets and excellent communication skills, as we regularly liaise directly with major clients and also with the Bank’s Custody Relationship Managers, working in partnership with them to ensure client requirements are supported.
We interact across the Bank’s global operations, including with colleagues in Brussels, Singapore and New York, to ensure a high level of service is provided to clients.
We act as the focal point of contact for clients, to ensure the timely and controlled set up and maintenance of all new and existing client accounts, markets and other static data maintenance whilst minimising the potential for risk and financial loss during the process.
Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for a complex client caseload and act as the link between the client / RM and the various operational areas of the Bank.
- Implement client instructions and complete the necessary documentation to ensure that the static data is accurately set up on the Bank’s mainframe systems including GSP, IMMS & SIS.
- Conduct an in-depth regular reviews of all outstanding items ensuring activities are completed in accordance to service level agreements.
- Build and maintain good client relationships in order to facilitate confidence in the department and assist in its continued success.
- Develop a full understanding of an individual client’s requirements in relation to the establishment of new accounts in order to complete the successful transition of new business.
- Widen knowledge of all areas of the Bank and of global markets in order to be able to efficiently resolve client queries and share experience with team members.
- Deputise for Team Manager during absences, and act as a role model to other team members.
- Take an active interest in the development of the department to encourage more effective ways of working
- The role holder will become an authorised signer with responsibility for managing risk and data quality checking.
Tone from the Top – Work collaboratively and on a timely basis with managers to review operational controls, conduct root-cause analysis and implement remediation activities emanating from operating incidents and near-miss events.
Risk Competence & Knowledge – Understand the key operational risks and the associated controls applicable to the Business Unit and follow all Business Unit operational procedures and other directive controls (eg. checklists) as designed.
Any identified issues or changes should be escalated to Managers.
Accountability
Ensure that risk issues (both current and emerging) are escalated promptly to managers, including:
a) Gaps or issues identified within the Business Unit controls;
b) Errors or potential errors/near-misses;
c) Other risk issues (including non-responses to queries, manual process intervention).
