Great Eastern Dining Room is one of London’s trendiest restaurants and bars situated in the highly fashionable area of Hoxton
It is a fabulous looking venue with a modern, minimalist style, serving top notch pan-Asian food.
An intimate dining room & ‘energetic’ all-day bar, this eastern outpost of Will Ricker’s pan-Asian chain has taken its place among the reliable veterans of Shoreditch’s hip mainstream.
Nothing much changes here: regular tweaks are made to the crowd-pulling menu of dim sum, sashimi, curries & noodles, but the hero dishes – duck, watermelon & cashew salad, chilli salt squid, black cod with sweet miso – remain inviolate.
Beneath striking modern chandeliers, graphic wallpaper & myriad mirrors, media/creative professionals graze on edamame, prawn har gau dumplings, sweet shrimp tempura & dynamite rolls. Butternut squash green curry & lamb Penang are more warming & substantial.
A globetrotting wine list features a dozen by the carafe, & house cocktails such as the mandarin & shiso caipirinha are deftly prepared.
