Overall purpose

The LITA Team is IRA’s principal contact with the Lloyd’s market, acting to:

• protect Lloyd’s reputation and trading position by managing international regulatory and supervisory environment risk.
• ensure the Lloyd’s market is fully aware of its competitive trading position and compliance requirements.

The principal responsibilities of this role are to:

• provide compliance advisory services to the market
• author thematic or topical commentary on regulatory issues
• review the Crystal and Risk Locator tools to ensure they are up to date and complete, ensuring timely addition or amendment as necessary
• represent Lloyd’s in meetings with the market and trade associations, as required

Responsibilities and accountabilities

Major responsibilities and accountabilities :

• Maintain expert knowledge and awareness of Lloyd’s overseas licensing and trading requirements.
• Provide compliance advisory services to the market on regulatory and business conduct requirements, Lloyd’s trading rights and restrictions. Be willing to take initiative in volunteering information on, or solutions to, regulatory issues.
• Consult with colleagues within IRA, Lloyd’s international offices and other Corporation departments at large to deliver market advisory services to required standards.
• Provide enquiry service via LITA desk, answering within service standards, to expected standards of accuracy and in line with Lloyd’s regulatory standards and risk appetite.
• Use knowledge and expertise on international regulatory matters to (i) develop broader messaging and thought leadership for IRA on regulatory trends or themes, coordinating with other subject matter expert colleagues as necessary, and (ii) grow personal and department market profile as subject matter expert on regulatory issues.
• Be fully conversant with Lloyd’s regulatory communications, including Crystal and relevant Market Bulletins to ensure that LITA is able to advise audiences on Lloyd’s regulatory environment.
• Responsibility for the management and editing of content in Crystal in respect of allocated licensed/unlicensed territories, ensuring that information is up to date, accurate, clear, concise, relevant and written in a manner that is easily understandable by market participants. Maintaining an audit trail of all content changes within Crystal and ensure that the annual content review is executed in accordance with agreed schedule working.
• Support IRD Executives’ review of information on Crystal and Risk Locator tools to ensure that content is accurate, up to date and reviewed in accordance with the agreed service standards. Ensure consistency of content by consultation with peers and manager. Ensure that legislative changes/developments are identified, monitored and actioned.
• Support the development of Crystal and Risk Locator Tool content, and QA Tool checks where required, by anticipating and responding to regulatory issues and trends, and market enquiries. Give consideration to other items that might be impacted by regulatory developments.
• Undertake projects, as required, to further the service offering of LITA to the market.
• Provide support to the management team of LITA and of IRA.

Generic responsibilities and accountabilities:

• Read, understand and follow the mandatory policies set out on MyHR including, but not limited to, Lloyd’s “Health and Safety at Work” Policy and, Lloyd’s “Information Security” Policy.
• Being aware of the Business Continuity Plan for IRA including response to alarms, meeting places and call cascades.
