The Alliance Network
The Alliance Network is made up of the main representatives from LGBT Employer Networks in the Midlands. Their aim is to create a significant LGBT network, across professional service organisations in the Midlands.
Why?
Many UK and Global Employer Networks are high profile and successful
Often activity and sponsorship is much more visible in London
Many LGBT people who work in the Midlands don’t have access to the same support
Smaller organisations won’t have the resources or scale to develop networks
Work alongside Midland LGBT Employer Network but provide more specific advice and support to professional service organisations
Help drive the business case for inclusion in Midlands
Support individuals to be themselves at work and reach their full potential
Objectives:
- Arrange business focussed and personal development events
- Work with all other networks – Midlands LGBT Employer, Open Land, Birmingham University Mentor Scheme, Out of Office etc.
- Share information and best practice in Diversity and inclusion approach, LGBT Employer Networks etc across organisations – business input
- Arrange events and provide support to all not just LGBT community
- Drive more active involvement from people based on the Midlands
- Attract and supporting wider LGBT community – female representation is key
- Support local relevant charities in terms of increasing knowledge and fund raising
