This is a one off: two blogs in one day, but I can’t stay quiet. I am astounded that the worried relatives of flight MH370 were contacted by Malaysian Airways, BY TEXT to say “None of those on board survived”. How insensitive; how inhumane. How easy and impersonal it was to text to multiple numbers this horrific statement.
What is wrong with personally calling each of these numbers to say this, and to take questions? What is wrong with having a spokesperson to address all the relatives in a specific room? I cannot believe the lack of basic respect for these poor relatives who have been waiting for news.
Hiding behind an anonymous text message is the height of cowardly behaviour; a new level of inhumane behaviour. I am sickened. This is the ultimate in hiding behind technology. And I’m saying no more because I’m so shocked.
