Institutional and Corporate Technology (ICT) is one of five divisions within Technology & Data. We face off to the business and support services to develop and oversee the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the enterprise. Our clients include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, Global Capital Markets, Operations, Finance, and Legal & Compliance. We are responsible for Pioneer and Application Infrastructure, groups that look to develop foundational strategies, tools and technologies that are leveraged across Tech & Data, as well as standardized data and enterprise-wide services to provide leverage to the Firm’s businesses.

Team Profile:

This position is for a senior lead developer who will be responsible for the delivery of the key projects for the Client Reference Data (CRD) group.

CRD team has commenced on several strategic initiatives to better our technology and data management platform. These initiatives involve building state of the art solutions using industry standard architectural methodologies such as Business Process Management, Event Driven MOM, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) as well as MDM for data management and Business Intelligence Reporting infrastructure.

The team currently has a need for an innovative and energetic lead developer to help in building the strategic platform. This position represents a unique opportunity to work with latest, bleeding edge technologies as well as work with various IT and Business teams across the firm

Primary Responsibilities:

The candidate will be involved with every facet of software development, from requirement analysis; design and development to helping the team continuously improve its agile development practices.

Primary technology stack employed by CRD development team is Java EE, XML/XSLT, Apache CXF, Spring framework, Hibernate, Sybase, Apache/Tomcat, ExtJs, etc. The candidate is expected to have technical expertise in Java EE, XML/XSLT, Apache CXF, JAXB, Spring framework, Hibernate, Sybase, Apache/Tomcat. Prior experience with either document management platforms and/or SOA is preferable.

Besides hands on involvement with projects, the candidate will be responsible for:

– Delivery of several Key projects or initiatives which will contribute to the building of the core CRD Platform.
– Providing overall direction, guidance and definition of the application (platform) architecture.
– Building a solid development team which can work on these key initiatives including partnerships with vendor provided resources.
– Improving the technical competency of the overall team in general.
– Establishing and forging key relationships with business and vendors alike. Skills required

The candidate must possess a strong technology background with excellent hands-on expert level knowledge of Java technology.
• Solid Java development experience
• Expertise in Core Java (Primary Skill)
• Experience in Web technologies like Servlets / JSP / Struts / Spring / Hibernate is Preferred.
• Working knowledge of Database with strong fundamentals in database design .
• Ability to coordinate with multiple groups, both internal and external to the firm, including offshore development and QA teams, internal infrastructure groups and support teams.
• Combination of development skills and the ability to understand technical design and translate the same into workable solution.
• Good written and oral communication skills with the ability ability to express design ideas and thoughts clearly.
• Skilled in process orientation with in-depth understanding of SDLC.
• Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and work toward meeting business requirements.
• Capacity to work in a team environment.

Skills desired

• Good knowledge of C /Flex/.Net as secondary skill would be a definite plus.
