Alphabet City Bar imageBeyond its own private entrance Alphabet City is a playground within a playground discreetly overlooking the main atrium at The O2. The first floor offers stylish and informal dining and the upper floor opens in to a wide, open lounge featuring a long bar, a stage for live music, comedy and performance, a world-class sound system, DJ booth and floor-to-ceiling screens.

Alphabet City is the only members’ club directly associated with and sited in The O2 and is a stylish hang-out for pre show drinks or aftershow parties until the early hours.

Integral to the overall design of Alphabet City is an explosive collection of rock and music photographic art prints curated by Tracey Kraft, Project Manager for www.rockarchive.com. The exhibition blazes a trail from the main entrance and continues up the winding staircase and through into the lounge and bar area. After carefully scouring rockarchive’s extensive limited edition archive Tracey selected 71 of the strongest images with which to launch the club. The images represent a variety of musical genres and iconic British and American bands and artists and many of the framed prints are also available for purchase. Weaving throughout the collection is a theme that attributes an artist to each letter of the alphabet.

Alphabet City BarAs well as table service for drinks, bar snacks and sharing plates the lavish long bar with handsome black leather button-back bar stools offers a glamorous perch for watching expert bar tenders fix drinks and craft heavenly cocktails. The drinks menu created by Head Bar Tender Richard Crossan includes house specials such as the deliciously scented Pasiflora garnished with an outrageous pineapple crisp and Bloody Mary’s topped off with a succulent king prawn and a mouth-popping toffee-coated cherry tomato for dipping.

The bar food and snacks menu includes homemade pork scratchings with warm apple sauce, a cheeky take on the classic scotch egg and larger sharing platters such as the Piggy Plank – a generous charcuterie board of executive proportions – as well as charming portable cheese cellars stocked with artisan cheeses, breads, fruit and pickles.
